Harness Fitting Guide
Harness Fitting Guide
A harness should feel secure, not restrictive.
At Purrfect Pet Kingdom™, every detail is shaped around comfort, trust, beauty, and practical pet care. Our standard is simple: make everyday pet essentials feel warmer, safer, more refined, and more worthy of the pets who rule our homes.
What This Means for Your Royal Companion
- Measure the neck, chest, and girth before choosing a harness.
- Use the two-finger check to avoid a fit that is too tight or too loose.
- Recheck fit often for puppies, growing dogs, and thick-coated breeds.
The Purrfect Pet Kingdom™ Standard
A good harness fit supports safer walks and better control. Measure around the widest part of the chest and compare it with the product’s size chart. Do not rely on breed alone because body shapes vary widely.
After fitting, the harness should sit flat without rubbing behind the legs or pressing into the throat. You should be able to slide two fingers under the straps while keeping the harness secure enough that the dog cannot back out.
Check for shifting during movement. If the harness twists, gaps, rubs, or restricts shoulder movement, adjust it or choose a different style.
Helpful Questions
Can a harness stop pulling? Some harnesses help manage pulling, but training and fit still matter.
How often should I check fit? Check before each walk and after washing, growth, coat changes, or weight changes.
