The Pump is quiet running ,as the filter has waterfall feature, THERE IS some water flow sounds which depends on water level,the higher the quieter it gets

When receiving the product, some of the toner will fall off which makes it looks like dirty ,no worry it's NOT actual dirty as product contains the Activated carbon and it's brand new.
Please rinse with water clean up before use.
Periodic cleaning the motor and filter cartridges/materials, move out the sundries stuck at motor ( if any) to avoid it stop running

The water inlet must install the mesh(sponge) to prevents the small fish or the sand be pump in to damage the power head
